There are many entertainment activities held in Lefkosa. Most of local festivals mark the most prominent events in the political and social life of the country. It is worth to mention the Children Day celebrated on the 23rd of April, Youth and Sport Day (19 May), Peace and Freedom Festival (20 July), Proclamation Day of TRNC (15 November).

As the majority of the population are Muslims, they also celebrate religious holidays such as Bairam (internationally known as "Eid") that signifies the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Bairam is celebrated twice per year (Ramadan Bairam and Kurban Bairam correspondingly). It is a joyful occasion in North Cyprus when the relatives and friends come together for celebration with meal.

Your visit to Nicosia can be more fascinating if you try as many activities as possible. You may go to the cinema, visit a carting club, bet in casino, dance at disco or even go hiking.

If you like going out at night, you may go to a disco to dance, communicate with friends, or to have a drink. Discos in North Cyprus are especially popular among young people although nobody has set the age of disco lovers. Discos in Cyprus are usually combined with bars, where you can move from the dance floor, get some rest and have a drink or refreshment.
